Over 7300 downloads in less than two months. Ever since the launch of the WS Weinmann & Schanz app in July 2018, the new sales channel in the form of a user-friendly app has been used feverishly. “We can’t believe we didn’t take this step earlier”, WS Weinmann & Schanz wonders.
Everything, in fact, was quite simple. The mail-order wholesaler for the sanitary, heating and air-conditioning industry commissioned ieffects – one of the leading companies for B2B e-commerce apps – to develop an app for 70,000 of its best-selling products.
The initial contact was made at the Internet World Expo 2017 in Munich. After taking this opportunity to get to know each other, the two parties got down to business by discussing specific issues. As soon as it became clear that ieffects would meet the requirements, both companies rolled up their sleeves and got down to work immediately.
A few months later, the high-performance, user-friendly B2B app was ready – in an attractive design and available in the languages German, English and French. Since July, it is available to all interested parties for free on Apple’s App Store and Google’s Play Store and can be installed on smartphones and tablets.
Customers get their user name and password directly from WS Weinmann & Schanz and can thus access information on articles, net and gross prices, special offers as well as contact and complaint forms, to which, for instance, they can attach photographs and images. Furthermore, a scan feature offers extra convenience to customers who wish to reorder articles. The app also provides information on availability of stocks and, if discounts are offered, displays the original price and corresponding savings.

Prior to this development, the 30-year old, family-run business was already operating a webshop. Thanks to the app, the company can now connect directly with its customers.
